The Humanities learning area provides a framework for the development of students’ knowledge and understanding of how people relate to each other and with their environment in local, national and global settings. Studies in the Humanities learning area enable students to learn from the past, investigate the present, and shape the future. The Humanities learning area also aims to develop in students key skills, values and an ability to participate as active and informed citizens in a democratic society in the global community.
