Teaching and Learning

The need to cater for the education of Australian Muslim children is of the utmost importance and by doing so, AIA seeks

To preserve Islamic culture and identity

To prepare students for a successful life with a clear consciousness of their roles

To instill a deep sense of belonging to Islam

To provide an Islamic environment where students feel comfortable and free to practise Islam, and to enhance their Faith and Islamic knowledge

To teach Islamic civilization, history and Islamic achievement

To develop acceptance, and the ability to participate effectively in society

To develop as good Muslim Australian citizens.

In the junior years, this is achieved by a focus on Living Values. Teaching and learning are focused around four broad areas:

1) Belief 2) Practice 3) Values 4) Manners

In the Senior Years 10 – 12, learning becomes focused around

God                         Duties                     Self                          Society

he overall goal of the Islamic Studies Program is the transformation of students on a path of elevating and perfecting human values and potential, in accordance with the teachings of the Qu’ran and the example set by the prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

Students also have the opportunity to develop their learning and understanding of Qu’ran throughout their years of schooling, and special opportunities are provided to assist students who wish to take their study of Qu’ran to greater depth.
